Stop the presses! Conservative Leader Stephen Harper has admitted he actually listens to his critics – at least on matters sartorial.
“Now, elections, as any candidate will tell you, are a humbling experience,” Harper, clad in a natty dark three-button suit and appropriately conservative tie, told 150 supporters at a morning rally in Ottawa on Monday.
“As you travel the country, people tell you very directly what they think about you personally. Your ideas and, yes, even your wardrobe,” he said with a smile.
That appeared to be a reference to his almost universally panned fashion statement of the too-tight burgundy mock turtleneck he sported in the first half of the campaign.
