A little excitement on the NDP campaign, thank goodness.
A bunch of fresh-faced young Liberals started hollering at Leader Jack Layton when he finished his speech tonight to a packed crowd in Vancouver.
"A vote for Jack is a vote for Harper," bellowed the handful of protesters holding up photographs of Layton and Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper. There was the usual pushing and shoving but nothing to get alarmed about.
Layton was held back by the Mounties until the protesters ran out of voices. NDP campaign types insisted it was an act desperation, but for many of us ink-stained wretches it was late-day relief from the same old speech.
