Harper's 'pretty cool'

Stephen Harper’s wife Laureen and daughter Rachel accompanied the Conservative leader on what aides said was his eighth trip to northern Canada.

Nunavut Premier Paul Okalik, local Conservative candidate Leona Agluukkaq and several schoolchildren rounded up by a friend carried welcome signs as they greeted the Harpers on the tarmac.

Kiana Foster, who said she is "pretty much 10" years old, thought Harper was "pretty cool."

But she said that she and her friend, Malayah Maloney, did not make the handmade signs that the prime minister autographed.

"They gave us the signs, but they said we could keep them."
