Standing in front of bouncing children at a Toronto daycare, NDP leader Jack Layton had just finished saying that Prime Minister "Stephen Harper is bad for the economy" when a loud pop sounded and the room went dark. No, Harper had not suddenly developed omnipotent power.
A circuit breaker had gone off.
Layton took time to calm the children before beginning his speech again while they yelled and banged in the background.
