NDP Leader Jack Layton doesn't like bankers. He's always blaming them for ripping off people at ATMs while holding their hands out for tax cuts. Why, today in Vancouver he even said they were gouging motorists at the pumps. Of course, he meant to say big oil companies. Layton is looking and sounding tired these days and he still has eight days left.

If I were Jack I would be tired too. He is having to try and break through the MSM's CON/LIB are the only parties that matter (except the Greens cause May is spunky) narrative.
I have yet to see any journo report what a digi-activist on rabble tracked down. I quote:
I am sick and tired of the commie comments on the MSM boards and I am sick that Jack keeps getting bashed with Rae's record. (ed. now that Rae is a liberal, he gets hit less often with this economic record than Layton does and Layton wasn't even in the ON NDP government)
They keep saying that NDP governments are fiscally irresponsible and it BUGS me because there is proof that it is NOT true.
So I found the link to the study that Jack mentioned in the debates.
It shows that when you look at the performance of provincial and territorial governments for the past 21 years (looking at the surplus/deficit numbers) NDP governments do better than any other party as fiscal managers.
NDP govts kept the books in the black 48% of the years they governed while Cons kept them in the black for 41% and Liberals kept the in the black ONLY 23% of the time

This is the last week. It will be all about the economy. The Liberals will try and convince everyone they are the best fiscal managers even though they are proposing to spend twice as much as NDP and are slashing corporate tax and proposing to rewrite the entire income tax code in the middle of the worst global economic crisis since the great depression.
I will add that the Liberal costing is a mess but was actually praised in this paper and the NDP plan from what I can see is fairly tight and I haven't seen much discussion of it at all.
So yeah I would be tired too.
