In the coming weeks, Star Photographers Richard Lautens, Steve Russell and Lucas Oleniuk will be covering the Olympic Games. The best athlete and event photos of the day can be seen in both the Toronto Star newspaper and at thestar.com, but the behind-the-scenes grind of producing these photos will be found here.
It will be a lighthearted look at what it takes to cover the Games and a look at some of the adventures found along the way. Sixteen-hour days of carrying 15kgs of equipment on crowded buses only to go through the equivalent of airport security 10 times a day while trying to occasionally eat and finally get into a position to take a photograph can make for some interesting tales.
Starting Aug. 5th, check back daily for the latest behind the scenes stories and photographs.

This sounds like it's going to be an awesome blog! I've e-mailed a few friends with the link. Looking forward to reading about (and seeing!) your experiences!

Why is there no coverage of Tae kwon do at the Olympics? I find that very disappointing! If it's a recognized sport, there should be something about it in the news. I don't see anything other than a mention of Karine Sergerie in Thursday's Star and that the finals are Aug. 20, 21, 22, 23. Nothing on the schedule for the viewers guide at all. Will there be any mention of the results of the events for Tae kwon do? I sincerely hope so!
All the best to all of our athletes!
