Heavy weather - or - why I hate chainsaws

Sorry, folks, that I’ve been a bit slow getting back to my blog. The family vacation at the cottage was marvelous. Until the very last day, that is, when at the very last minute, a tornado ripped through the area, and took down several trees and power lines on the property. It happened so fast. Okay, I admit — I freaked. But the rest of the family stayed very calm. My cool-as-a-cucumber daughter Emma, who saw the first tree fall, simply stood up and said “I think we should go to the basement now.”  So scary — and such as mess. So rather than getting right back to my Hot Home Products column, the blog, the bedroom reno, OR the painting of the living room, I spent the latter part of the week back up at the cottage, hauling large bits of wood and brush and cursing Mother Nature. And I’ve definitely decided I don’t like chain saws. Nasty, noisy, frightening brutes, even if they are Very Effective.  But I’m back now, with lots of cool news coming up over the next little while. Stay tuned, faithful reader.
