Grill winners - and a few important BBQ "facts"
Drum roll, please. The winners of the PC Home mini grill contest are Lina Michelini of Toronto, Nick Selitsanos of Mississauga, Kate Clarkson of Fordwich and Tamara Lee of Toronto. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all those who participated. Speaking of grilling, I came across some interesting grilling stats from Weber (you know it’s summertime when columnists start “reporting” on “grilling facts”!)
Men are more likely than women to think that grilling is relaxing and a good way to reduce stress (72 per cent vs. 65 per cent)
Canadians BBQ-ers prefer gas grills — 91 per cent own one
Nine in ten survey respondents say they fire up the grill at least once a week, although Quebecers and Ontarians are most likely to grill more than once a week
Most of us (56 per cent) like to grill in summer months. Just 32 per cent (mostly men) cook outdoors even when the temperature dips below zero
Western Canadians do the most winter grilling, with 22 per cent most likely to grill when the thermometer drops to minus 20º
