Cameron quote of the day

"I can't think of any examples right now, but when something bad happens to me I can never forget about it."

Bad thing later recalled was incident involving a piece of broken Lego hand (total size: 3 mm) going down a drain. Revelation was followed by deep discussion about how that piece of Lego is probably in the "ocean" now, and would soon be washed up on a beach and made into a sand castle. My story about leaving my groovy new cocktail ring on a restaurant bathroom counter recently seemed to provide some comfort, particularly when I explained that I would rather have had a nice evening out than keep a thing that's just a thing.)

Very difficult to make sure my face reflected the deadly serious nature of the conversation.

(Things pictured above, image courtesy of SHUTTERSTOCK, are known by both my offspring as "guys." Guys are a big part of our lives. They are assembled. They are taken apart. They are fought over. They are pried from toddler fingers. They are taken away at the dinner table. And their accessories are the mom-of-boys equivalent of Barbie high heels.)
