Over the city and at work.

Pawel Dwulit - Staff Contract Photographer

Here are some images that didn't end up making it into the newspaper from another Ramadan profile I worked on with reporter Noor Javed. This time we found a recent convert to Islam - Alex Carter. Alex was really nice and open to talking about his conversion. he told me that he has always been fascinated with religion in general since he was a child. He studied various religions and chose Islam for its humble and peaceful nature.

September 3, 2009 - Alex Carter, a new convert to Islam is seen breaking his fast at work in Mississauga Ontario. Carter is fasting for the first time in his life during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan. He breaks his fast at work and prays at work on occasion. Toronto Star/Pawel Dwulit

I photographed Alex at his place of work in Mississauga starting with an hour left in his shift. I watched him work on the phone then break his fast and then pray right before leaving for home.

September 5, 2009 - The Snowbirds Demonstration Team (431 Squadron) of the Canadian Forces performs during the Canadian National Exhibition over Toronto Ontario. Toronto Star/Pawel Dwulit

The airshow was on this weekend and what a sight. Staring at the sky doesn't get much better with really expensive jets flying around in formation.

These are some of my favourites from the past week. Steve Russell has some amazing shots of the airshow that he got from the deck of a Canadian Forces ship.
