Shout out to the shut out

Randy Risling/Toronto Star

The Star put together some lovely mug shots of the 17 of us that made the trip to Vancouver for the Olympics. Problem - there's actually 18 of us.

Eventually the ad was corrected to include Jim.

If we are the floormen and women of the Olympic casino then Mr. Jim Byers is the pit boss. Like a true gentleman, Jim graciously accepted his absence from the page with a grain of salt. This is his 6th Olympics and has been with The Star for 28 years. He bleeds blue.

Jim Byers is first to arrive and last to leave Star headquarters at the Main Press Centre in Vancouver. He can easily spend 16 hours sitting that very chair. And yes, those are maple leaf sprinkles on the doughnut eh.
