Municipal Election heats up
RICK MADONIK - City council candidate Mohamed Dhanani speaks into a mail slot at an apartment door where the occupant didn't want to open the door during a canvas in a high rise building on Thorncliffe Park. Dhanani lost the last election by just over 200 votes and is out working to try to make sure that doesn't happen again.
DAVID COOPER - MIke Weir fans dressed as Masters Caddies stand behind the first green watching the play Friday during the second round of the 2010 RBC Canadian Open played this year at St. Georges golf and C.C.
RICHARD LAUTENS - In first half action, Toronto FC forward Chad Barrett (19) hoists Toronto FC midfielder Julian de Guzman (6) after Barrett's goal. Toronto FC won the first of home-and-away CONCACAF Cup game against Motagua of Honduras 1-0 at BMO Field.
RICK MADONIK - Mike Kray tees off the 16th tee during 3rd round action of Toronto Star Amateur Golf tournament at Credit Valley Golf and Country Club in Mississauga. Kray finished the day in 6th spot.
STEVE RUSSELL - Toronto Blue Jays centre fielder Dewayne Wise makes his second spectacular catch of the night in Centre field, he also homered as the Toronto Blue Jays lose to the Minnesota Twins 7-6 at the Rogers Centre.
RICK MADONIK - A small group of men appear on a rooftop opposite the Plaza Flamingo on College Street. Spanish fans take over College and Bathurst as they celebrate Spain's defeat of The Netherlands in FIFA World Cup championships in South Africa.
STEVE RUSSELL - It was almost as hot as three-year-old Cole Thurgur's game at the Valley Tennis Club, the club at Yonge and York Mills is in York Mills Valley Park and came in at the hottest place in the city as the Toronto Star sought out the hottest spots in Toronto.

CARLOS OSORIO - Campers at Newport Adventure Camp are seen playing a game of sink the canoe. The object of the games is to splash water into the two canoes until they sink. The counselors inside the canoes use a bucket to take the water out of the canoe.

At a time when many young Sikh men are cutting their hair in a desperate bid to assimilate, a small, but growing number of Sikh women in the greater Toronto area wear the turban, bucking the trend.

The annual Dyke March made its way from the Church Street Village, up to Bloor Street, across to Yonge and south to Wood Street. A couple thousand marched and thousands lined the route.
