Air Show ends the CNE in style
The Canadian International Air Show on the last day of the CNE featured the always amazing Snow Birds. For the air show fans it's a great time to see very cool and historic aircraft. For the photo journalist it's a very long and hard afternoon of concentration and long lens panning.
We are there to make great pictures of the show, but also we are there just in case something goes wrong and the unthinkable happens -- a plane goes down. That's the hard part because basically you follow the planes in the sky, make lots of frames of every plane and watch for any signs of trouble. If something does happen it is usually very quick. You better be looking through the camera when it does or you will miss it.
After shooting 3300 frames of planes over the entire afternoon these are some of my favorites.David Cooper
