RICHARD LAUTENS - Patrons look at a portrait of the Princess Grace by Andy Warhol. Grace is a celebration of actress and princess Grace Kelly through her life and career at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. The exhibit includes posters, letters, home movies and clothing.
RICHARD LAUTENS - Dale Rutledge of Rutledge Farms stands in one of his storage sheds beside thousands of pounds of yukon gold potatoes.The residents of Melanchton township, a half an hour north of Orangeville, have had continued and sustained protests against a proposed megaquarry in their township. The Megaquarry is slated to be the second largest in North America at potentially 2, 500 acres. The Highlands company began buying up farms in the area several years ago in the area.
STEVE RUSSELL - Owen Chalmers, 12, kisses his cow Charlotte and gets the kiss returned. Chalmers and his 10 month-old Angus calf are from Oro-Medonte just North of Barrie and were enjoying a snuggle at The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
JIM RANKIN - Kofi Patrong, 26, and his mother Rose Patrong, 65, are suing Toronto police over the handling of a 2004 investigation into killer Tyshan Riley, who shot and wounded Patrong that year while Riley was under police surveillance and a lead suspect in a drive-by murder. Patrong, mistaken for a rival gang member, was hit in his legs by three bullets. One wound on his left calf became infected in hospital. Skin grafts were required. He did not want his face shown out of fear of reprisals from gang members.
MITCH POTTER - Libyan unity is depicted viscerally on the walls of the Revolution Cafe in west Tripoli, where owner Yousef Shibani's customers have covered the walls in handwritten tributes to the overthrow of Qadhafi. Customers now climb a ladder to write on the ceiling tiles.
STEVE RUSSELL - Justine Manna plays the flute during Communion at the funeral for her grandfather Sam Manna, who passed away on November 21st at the age of 78 was a 60-year supporter and volunteer with the Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund. His family is asked that people donate to the fund in leiu of sending flowers. His funeral was held at St. Gabriel's Passionist Parish, a parish he was involved in. RICK MADONIK - A protestor raises his fist in defiance as police line the area. The Occupy Toronto encampment in St. James Park was cleared Wednesday by Toronto municipal workers backed up by Toronto Police Services.
RICK MADONIK - Most competitors carry their bikes over the log obstacle in the forest in the Men's Elite division of Cyclocross. The Canadian Championships of Cyclo Cross took place at Pine Point Park in Etobicoke.
STEVE RUSSELL - Aleksandra Wozniak and Hayden Christensen return a ball. Rick Campanelli and Brad May played Aleksandra Wozniak and Eugenie Bouchard. The female pros had to play handicapped, Wozniak had to hold hands with Hayden Christensen and Bouchard with Milos Raonic.
