Actor Alex Furber sits on Joey at the 95th anniversary of the Battle Of Vimy Ridge at a ceremony of remembrance at the Cenotaph at Old City Hall. It was Easter Monday on April 9, 1917 that all four divisions of the Canadian Corps began the historic attack on Vimy Ridge. Canada lost 3,598 soldiers.

Marty the Calgary horse tried to get into the Royal York Hotel as part of the Grey Cup shenanigans. But was refused, Marty and his rider Fletcher Armstrong, chair of the Calgary Grey Cup committee, were allowed into BMO building on Bay Street and after a twitter outcry, allowed into the Royal York.
