Ten metre platform diver Meaghan Benfeito trains at Montreal 1976 Olympic Pool, April 2, 2012. Benfeito and diving partner Rosaline Filion won bronze in 10 metre platform synchronized diving in London.
A woman weeps after the announcement of the first dead victim was removed from the Algo Centre Mall in Elliot Lake. Three demolition cranes from Toronto took apart the building for rescuers after the roof of the Mall caved in killing two. There were fears that as many as a dozen people might have been trapped.

Ben Wood, who suffered a spinal cord injury three years ago at the age 14, jumping from a trampoline into a swimming pool paralyzing himself from the chest down can take steps with a walker, thanks to intense, specialized physiotherapy with Julie Vaughan. Ben and his mother Sandy drive in from drive from Cobourg for these sessions. He's now 17.

Tony Sharpe, left, does resistance training with his athletes.
