Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC) fighters are pictured near the frontline five kms from the coastal city of Sirt, west of Tripoli, on September 21, 2011, the day NTC commander Ahmed Zlitni said that fighters loyal to Libya's new rulers were planning for a three-pronged attack on Moamer Kadhafi's hometown where he is thought to enjoy a broad base of support.
