Editor's Choice - Picture of the Day - October 23, 2011 - Pity the poor Premier League striker
Nothing quite like the braggadocio of a Premier League player, eh? The back story on this: Manchester City's Italian striker Mario Balotelli was perhaps feeling persecuted after a string of much-publicized antics (e.g. throwing darts at players on the field, his inability to put on a pinny) that culminated in him setting his house on fire Saturday after shooting fireworks out of the bathroom window. In any case, he had this message for the world during Sunday's game. The Star's own Cathal Kelly has a great column about the incident in Monday's paper.
