Rebuilding a Legend: Ryerson's transformation of the Gardens into the sweetest hockey rink ever, a photo exhibit by Toronto photographer Norm Betts, running November 1st through December 31st, 2012 at Jet Fuel, 519 Parliament St., Toronto.
Here's a sneak peek at some of the images Betts took between June 2010 and September 2012, on what he calls a dream assignment, having been granted access to photograph anything as long as it didn't slow construction, and was within the bounds of safety.
APRIL 6, 2011 - Two cranes move a giant beam into place which will become the top edge of the seating in the west side and the corner of the ceiling of the baskteball / volleyball gym on the second floor.
July 2, 2010 - Just before workers began pouring the floor of the parking garage.
January 19, 2011 - A worker with a torch cuts one of the original seating supports.
October 2, 2010 - A worker trowels a smooth surface on a concrete pour in the levels below street level.
November 11, 2011 - Pouring concrete to form the various levels of seating around the rink.
