Opening a casino in the GTA is problematic, to say the least. Aside from the issues of morality and social balance, there’s also the question of whether this will even work, since a local casino is likely to cannibalize revenue from border casinos that are already struggling.
Rob Ford’s integrity troubles
Mayor Ford got into some trouble by using city hall letterhead to solicit donations to his football foundation from private interests, a violation of the municipal code of conduct. Now a lawsuit is seeking Ford’s ouster. While it’s almost inconceivable that a judge might – quite legally – remove the mayor of Canada’s largest city from office, why didn’t Ford take steps to avoid this whole mess in the first place?
