For whom the bells toll
Presumably to play some mischief with the carbon-tax announcement, the Conservatives have called a vote for about 11 am. All the time Dion is talking, the Commons' bells are ringing in the background.

According to CTV, it was the NDP who forced the vote.

The inept and embarrassing Clownservative government has no vision for this country particularly when it comes to environmental concerns. Their "Done in Canada" strategy has been panned by everyone with exception to the mindless sheeples in Conservative caucus. And so, how utterly childish and petulant for our government (no less) to have bells peeling on Parliament Hill for no other apparent reason than to disrupt and ruin Dion's press conference.
DUMP THE HARPEROID AND HIS COGNITIVELY CHALLENGED CAUCUS!

Conservative, NDP: what's the difference? Both parties are tied to yesterday's economy. It makes sense that either on one of them will be getting in the way of the path to tomorrow's economy.
The NDP only understand half the green shift. The Conservatives are only telling you about half of the green shift. Same old, same old.

THE GREEN SHAFT - Canadians are "shift out of luck"!

Actually it was the NDP that caused the ringing of the bells, but lets not let the facts get in the way of a good "drive by smear"

Yeah...let's add some more taxes for the cost of fuel, electricity generation and natural gas are even MORE expensive.
Seriously...do we need more child tax credits? What about the two income homes that are smart enough not to breed? Where is my kickback?
There won't be one. I'll instead be the guy that pays for all the carbon taxes and receives the smallest tax benefits.
Anyone who supports this kind of plan is foolish.
Do you really think this will make a difference to the environment when China will eat up our emission saving with new emissions in less than two weeks?
Dumb Canadians. Stop this madness bedfore I have to move to another country. Oh wait - I'll probably be surrounded by idiots at that destination, too.

good plan

It's true that China dwarfs us in Carbon Dioxide emissions. We have to convince them to scale back and not make the same mistakes we have. There will be no way for us to do without cutting back significantly ourselves.
If you don't have kids, you have the flexibility to get a condo downtown, which will save you a lot on heat and transportation.

"... how utterly childish and petulant for our government (no less) to have bells peeling on Parliament Hill ..."
How does one "peel" bells? Is it the same way one peels apples?

It sounds to me like political newsgathering today is more like poop-scooping and if there is not enough poop add your own original scoop. Never mind if the innuendos have no facts to back them up. We finally have a Prime Minister who is getting things done but nobody likes him because 1) he doesn't speak out of both sides of his mouth like Martin and Chretien to tickle our ears 2) he isn't railroaded every day by what the news media declares as popular. He is steering a middle road for ALL of us while cutting off heavy Liberal nonsense spending at the pass!
Chretien was bad enough with his broken English and bad manners on the international stage. Can you imagine Dion. Compared to them Steven Harper is pure platinum. Look we will never have a perfect Prime Minister, the media will simply never let that happen!
