Sometimes, ya gotta just love W!

Sorry to disappoint y'all, but if you listen closely, and more than once, what Mr. Bush said is "Y' know Harper? President of Nigeria."

Intonation IS important.

In other words, he's introducing the Nigerian president to PM Harper. That's what my ears tell me.

Of course, everyone is entitled to hear what (s)he wishes.

Susan- you just can't stop trashing Harper can you.
This is what the UK's Telegraph thinks of him.....
"Of all the leaders, only Stephen Harper - the talented but curiously neglected Canadian prime minister - is able to point to a popular and successful record in office.

Some will regard it as alarming that, in current times, world leadership should rest with Canada. But the Canadian Tories are a model of how to behave during a downturn.

They have kept spending in check and reduced taxes. They are playing their full role in world affairs, notably in Afghanistan.

Rather than canting about saving the world (Mr Harper, in his quiet and courteous way, is a Kyoto-sceptic) they have addressed themselves to curing remediable ills and, above all, to putting their own affairs in order.

If the rest of the world had comported itself with similar modesty and prudence, we might not be in this mess."

This is trashing Harper? Good grief the Tory supporters are overly sensitive aren't they.

What I noticed was how much Bush has aged.

So George W. Bush said "Yo Harper". So what?

Wow, the critics need to lighten up a bit. So what if POTUS said "yo" to our PM! Fact is the US is one if not our closest trading partner and whether some like it or not we do as a nation have ties to them. In fact, we need those ties! I'm just happy we get along and by extension, our leaders do too!

True, but if the world sees Canada's PM as close to the hated and feared George W. Bush, won't our standing be lowered? Harper is following Bush in resisting CO2 emission targets unless China and India lead. Knowing that they won't.

Interesting, not so much because Bush called, as because Harper came running. (hoping for a belly rub and a biscuit no doubt)

Talking about making a mountain out of a mole hill!! Why is it some people always try to twist the news into something thats really not there for their own political agenda.
