Bizarro world

Well here's a twist on the usual state of affairs.

We can't get Michael Ignatieff to come and talk to reporters today. A statement on the Ruby Dhalla resignation --  http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article/629897 -- will have to do, we're told.

But the notoriously media-shy Prime Minister has actually picked up a phone to call The Star's Richard Brennan. About hockey, naturally. Here's the story: http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article/629840

Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff hiding from the press; Harper phoning a reporter? Things sure have changed since I was last here.

While you were away - after he had made the biggest political miscalculation of his career - and a few secluded days talking to his mirror - I seem to remember that Harper did come out of isolation and talk to a few media types. I don't remember that list including anyone from the Star though - or for that matter Don Newman.
