Lights, camera, makeup

The new CBC show, Power and Politics, debuted yesterday, featuring an interview with a  blood-stained protester from yesterday's imbroglio in the Commons. The bloodied face was alleged to be the result of brutality at the hands of Commons guards.

Big problem: The protester, Jeh Custer, seems to have acquired the blood on his face AFTER he left the Hill and sometime before he showed up for his interview with Evan Solomon. Take a look for yourself, in this post on the new CBC Politics blog.

Comments

I was very curious about the disturbance during Question Period on Oct 26. I was grateful to have more information this matter.

Was the decision to interview Jeh Custer made in accordance with the CBC's Journalistic Standards and Practices (in this case I thought the article on the "coverage of demonstrations" was applicable)?

Does it encourage future groups to disturb Parliament as a means to get greater press coverage?
