PM, the flu and asthma

Prime Minister Stephen Harper will be getting his flu shot "in the not too distant future," according to a PMO spokesperson.

I asked the question to the office today in relation to the PM and asthma.  Yesterday, I heard a doctor advising that anyone with asthma, even mild asthma, should be on the priority list for vaccination. Harper has made no secret of the fact that he's suffered from asthma. Remember the visit to emergency just before he was sworn in as PM in 2006?

This PM has an aversion to being seen as jumping to the head of any queue. So I've always thought that was the hesitation we were hearing when he talked about getting a flu shot. However,  his history with asthma, not his job, should ensure that he gets the shot soon.
