"Not urgent" = No-show

Conservatives won't be at tomorrow's meeting of the special Commons committee on Afghanistan, according to Liberal MP Ujjal Dosanjh, who shared the heads-up on Twitter. Here's how he put it:

the Cons members of the spcl Comte on Afgn will not show up for the mtg called 4 2morrow. Issue of torture not urgent, they claim.

Word of the month: Brazen.

If a meeting is called whether it is 'urgent' or not, there is a responsibility public and private servants owe to their constituents. Urgency is all in the eye of the beholder.

Just because I do not deem something important, there might be ten (10) others who do. If that is the stance people in aurthority want to take regarding issues that are justifiable, than let them explain their rationale.

I would hope if in position to make decisions regarding many, or few, I will always have the courage and decency to explain my position at any time of the day. Granted here in the states we have been shellacked with bad weather, if that is the reasoning than explain it. But to explain it away with a 'non statement' raises more questions than explanations.

I would hope people would at least submit a statement greater than what I saw in your very short article. Susan I love reading your stuff, and I wish you and your family the very best Holiday Season ever. Be safe and be well.

They act like pouty children. Shameful and embarrassing that our government acts like this.
