Media control

Here's a new twist in controlling the media... Ban them from the washrooms. WashroomPhoto Well, the women, anyway.

My colleague Tanya Talaga snapped this photo today while covering Harper's trip to Mississauga.  Here's what she sent along with the photo:

At a joint federal-provincial infrastructure announcement with Prime Minister Stephen Harper female journalists were not allowed to use the bathroom due to security reasons. There was only one bathroom on site at the Mississauaga maintenance yard and it was men's only. When Sun columnist Christina Blizzard tried to use it, she was removed by security.

Now take that case, and imagine what will happen if it's a majority government. ;-)

What are you suggesting? That the evil Harper did this?

Harper clearly ordered the washroom closed to piss off Star reporters!!

Barry I don't think use of "evil" to describe the PM is fair, or appropriate.
Obviously his media handlers are still very green in terms of how to set up events. It's not their fault they don't have a lot of experience in this area.

It works with Harper's maternal health strategy, as well.

Keep your legs crossed, ladies!
