Brockville-Kingston

Michael Ignatieff warned today that he is in danger of becoming a "fat guy" after this summer tour. (And yes, the bus is back up and running today.)

It is true that there's a food-centric element to these political events: barbecues, baked goods at every stop; junk food on the bus. Just a few minutes ago, I found a box of cookies floating in front of my face. I was so taken up with choosing which one to have that I didn't notice that it was Ignatieff himself holding out the box in front of us. I guess the idea is that if he's going to get fat, we have to too.

CTV has rejoined the tour today, by the way. Roger Smith has been explaining that the bus breakdown yesterday made bosses rethink plans to ignore the tour today.

Now it's on to Chez Piggy in Kingston.

Two months on the Liberal bus?
I would expect reporters to start abandoning the bus in a couple of weeks after the novelty of the bus starts to wear thin, and the tour begins become the same old, same old.
It's only just started and already reading about Ignatieff and his bus is begining to bore me.

ah the internet has so broadened the understanding of politics and the universe...now that I know iggy is serving cookies to hungry reporters on the bus it will be so much easier to know who to vote for...especially after yesterday's story that was so important to this country's future, the breakdown of the bus..finally I can move on to the deep digging, insightful, international stories...like what new profanities has Lindsey Lohan painted on her nails today

wow then. you better stop. interesting you committed to both reading this AND commenting. Better rest now.

Sounds pretty good, where do I sign-up? It will be a nicer summer than I can afford, riding around the country eating hotdogs, hamburgers, maybe some steak once-in-awhile? I wish I was a reporter. And you get paid, whoa. Watch the snacks, you won't have an appetite for burgers.

Susan, I have a question for Michael Ignatieff if you could ask him for me? What power or authority do 3 retired court justice' ( http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article/835742--senior-jurists-to-advise-mps-on-afghan-documents ) have with respect to making decisions on making Afghan detainee documents public? Is this how violations of the Geneva Convention and all related protocols are handled on the world stage?
