Mr. Teneycke has left the building
This morning, political/journalism junkies on Twitter noticed that Sun TV VP Kory Teneycke's account -- which he'd been using mainly as a name-calling vehicle against his foes and challengers since starting to work for Quebecor -- had been suspended.
Then, at 10 a.m., we got the announcement that Teneycke was stepping down, acknowledging that he'd gone too far -- making Sun TV too controversial.
The Twitterverse, which Kory has vacated, exploded with smart remarks; some of them hilarious. Here is a selection. Warning: Some of the jokes/remarks require context. If you see others, please feel free to add to the comments section:
@InklessPW (Macleans' Paul Wells, who has a few): June 9, 2010 - Sept. 15, 2010: the best summer job since Kim Campbell's.
@InklessPW: This is really sad. Apparently Kory just wasn't lame enough to hang out with a lamey lame-o bunch like us. Boo. Hoo.
@LizT (Elizabeth Thompson, formerly of Sun Media, one fired by Kory): Fascinating. Kory Teneycke blows up one of the best bureaus on the Hill, hires new people plus PMO staffers, then quits. Bienvenue Luc.
@colbycosh: I sort of figured they'd find out Kory can read.
So, logically then, it's Kory to CRTC.
@corbettkev: I heard there's a church in Gainesville that's looking for a publicist. #cdnpoli #canpoli #suntv
@jessehawken: Teneycke - another man playing checkers in a world of chess players
@_estunautre: Yep. A trip to DisneyLand can sure change your mind about things.

sorry, Susan, I think this is a pretty cheap thing to do. Sure there are lots of people out there happy to stomp all over Kory Teneycke today but I don't see why you think it's necessary to facilitate this.
I thought you were a bit more professional but apparently not.

Chalk up another win for billionaire George Soros! All you folks on the left should be so happy to be associated with this gentleman and his sponsership of Avaaz. And of course there is nothing wrong with having left wing lobby groups like them operating in Canada on your behalf. It's only wrong when it's folks on the right that do this.
What hypocrites you all are!

And it seemed like only yesterday I left a comment that Kory would be around until Harper leaves or the must-carry license application fails, whichever comes sooner.
I was wrong. It was a lot sooner. I guess Karl Peladeau had had enough of this ill-tempered Polievrian piece of ....

I think he's pulling a Sarah Palin. Perhaps his destiny is to replace Mr. Harper as leader of the CPC after our Prime Minister delivers his next minority government.

I think it's sad that the right blame the left and are upset that people have opinions about Kory's leaving, when he went on a crusade to belittle and demean people and caused the loss of jobs of some real quality journalists.
You see, if you're going to dish it out, you have to be able to take it Kory.
I don't wish bad things for Kory, but this certainly should be a learning experience for a smart guy who is just too immature for his own good.
