Over the moon

I know, I know, it's later than you expected but that nasty paper work got in the way, much to be reading in the pages of The Star tomorrow

Anywho, you all know now that, as many of us had expected since before training camp began, Jamario Moon is in, Luke Jackson is out and the roster is set.

Now, before you start getting Moon ready for induction into the Hall of Fame, remember, he's likely the 14th man on a 15-man roster; if he's active for games, that's a huge step.

Still, it's the feel good story of the season, so far.

Now, about Jackson.

I've heard Turkey as a possible destination, Bryan Colangelo said there's some interest in Italy (I wonder who helped cook that up?) and maybe the D League is in his future. But, having already scorched the D League, he may want to head overseas instead of having a 'been there, done that' season in North America.

Been following your writing for some years now; love the blog, mailbags, etc. I do seem to remember you scoffing at the notion of Moon making the roster this summer, but I'll let you off the hook. Keep up the good work!

It really has nothing to do with Moon. Luke Jackson is gone and the Raps swallowed his $800K salary because they insisted on signing a 38 year old, overweight, third string point guard. Jackson would have been far down in the rotation, so maybe it won't matter. But with the long season and injuries on the horizon, they may regret not keeping a 25 year old who can run, pass, and shoot the lights out on a given night.

Luke certainly comes across as a good guy. I can imagine that his character was one of the reasons Bryan took a chance on him. Funny how he looked so much better the first couple of times he played in games last year. This preseason he showed very little reason for the team to keep him. Hope he has success whever he winds up.

That's too bad, I really liked Luke Jackson. I haven't really caught Mr. Moon yet but here's to hoping he's as likable a bench guy as Mr. Jackson and wishing Luke all the best wherever he ends up.
