The Goods On The Game, Vol. 1, No. 1
I don't know if that's a suitable name or not but that's what we're going with.
Welcome, folks, to the season. The real season.
The goal of these little dispatches, of course, is to entertain and inform and I have no idea if we'll accomplish either.
But we'll give it our best shot.
Not much news to report as we get ready to start except that it's freezing cold outside already and we're all thanking our bosses we haven't been asked to wander over to the ballyard to help with the fallout of the Series.
Regular starters that you know about: Calderon, Parker, Moon, Bosh and O'Neal for the Raptors; Andre Miller, Andre Iguodala, Thaddeus Young, Elton Brand and Sam Dalembert for the Sixers.
We'll be back a couple of times a quarter if you're sitting somewhere with the laptop to keep you company during the game.
See ya.

Thanks for doing this Doug; I'm stuck at work...typing this from my laptop in my boss' office.
:grumble:

It's bad enough that 25 games won't be shown in Toronto. And that the Opening Game is moved back to dinner time. But the ultimate insult is to have Rod "I'm an expert in every sport" Black do the play by play. You know him - Rod "the Raptors better be careful" Black.
He's a studio host for heavens sake - why do we always get stuck with him doing P by P for Raps & Jays. He is absolutely the worst in the business.
Please get him back on figure skating.
Blogger's note: Um, Rod Black? Play-by-play? Were you watching a game from the past? If you're gonna rip, at least get it right, okay?

Im listening to The Fan - even with the 2 second TV delay it is preferable to Rod Smith's babble....
Blogger's note: Really, you gotta get stuff right. Please

The new guy, Matt Devlin, does sound like Rod Black.
newbie is not the first to say that, to be honest.
Nothing against Matt, but it's going to take a while to get used to him after having listened to Chuck's distinct style over the years.
