You wanted even more news? Well, here's some more
Been a pretty busy day over here, as it turns out.
I'm sure you all saw the earlier news that both Jason Kapono (bruised quad) and Jermaine O'Neal (bruised right knee) are going to be game time decisions for tonight against Denver.
Well, having spoken to Jay Triano after shootaround a while ago, it's apparent that even if Kapono can go, he'll come off the bench and Anthony Parker will be back in the starting five.
The reason? Well, neither of them are really lighting it up in their new roles, that'd be the one big thing.
Said Jay of Parker::
"I wouldn’t say he’s played his way into it or that JK has played himself out of the starting spot. We need to maximize those two guys and right now they’re both struggling a little bit as far as points are concerned and maybe this change will just get them back into the positions they’ve played for most of their careers."
And if O'Neal can't go, Jay said Andrea Bargnani goes into that spot in the starting lineup.
Guess all this means you'll have to check back right before the game to find out who's playing and who isn't.
Of course, this is the first time the Raptors have seen the Nuggets since they were narrowly edged 132-93 earlier this month in Denver in what was the last game of the Sam Mitchell era.
Have they talked about? Jay, again:
"We’ve discussed it a little bit, yeah. We’re professional athletes and you lose by 40 and you get embarrassed, you don’t want that to happen again, you don’t want that to happen in your own building. We’ve got to start playing with a sense of pride in our own building and establishing how we’re going to be represented as a team in front of our fans."

This is all so very Canadian. Jay, rather than call out one of his players for poor play, will instead cite a phantom injury in order to make a roster change. Because an NBA coach shouldnt show up one of its players.
Kapono doesnt have a bruised quad. A bruised ego, maybe, but the quad is fine. I dont think Triano is cut out for this job. Besides looking like an amateur, he's too afraid to upset his players.
Blogger's note: How'd you become so all knowing? Seriously, you honestly believe what you just wrote? Or you just venting without any basis in fact?

I expect he believes what he wrote, but he's actually just another of your delusional readers, Doug. Toronto sports seem to attract them, kind of like fecal matter attracts flies - not actually meant as a comment on Toronto sports, but ... Oh, and impersonating a doctor is a crime, please report him ;)

The analogy of fecal matter and flies works quite well for the Toronto Raptors of late and the team's rabid fans. And phantom injuries and misdirection are commonplace in the Toronto sports scene. See J.P. Ricciardi and Pat Quinn.
