Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
Andrea is really coming on strong. How many fouls has caused on Indy so far. The rest of the team has been poor so far but he is fun to wtch develop.

doug, during the game against indiana, they showed a commercial for genuine miller beer... where the guy leaps above his friend to grab a can opener,,, " and secure the rebound " per say...
and the line reads " show your inner raptor" ::I almost choked from laughing... really rebound and raptors ..

Nice come back...but no energy for 3 quarters...another game that went down to the wire that shouldn't have. These guys just look so stagnant all the time...there is no fire with them. It's like they go into every game thinking they're not good enough, until the go on a bit of a run and then start believing...usually too late.
I was really hoping they would turn it around with the players they have....but they need some toughness and some scoring on the wing if they have any chance at all this year.

I'm so tired of JK and his travel calls. I don't care who's to blame.

I wonder who led the raps in turnovers tonight?

Clearly there are a number of small, critical issues with the team but for 11 minutes in the 4th the Raptors looked like a contender. Quite simply: 20 turnovers and a FG percentage of 36 for everyone not named Chris Bosh is what sunk the Raps. And the mental errors within the last few minutes: Travel, Foul, Travel. Oh, and the one pass, then shoot syndrome.
Did Triano put Parker in as a change of pace or because the PGs were so ineffective? Would you say that was one of the poorer played games from a Raptor PG perspective?
Blogger's note: Neither of the guards were doing anything and desperate times called for desperate measures. I don't imagine it becomes a regular thing

Doug, is there even a glimmer of truth to the Marion for JO rumour ? It would seem to work for both teams, player wise, and more importantly, salary cap wise.
