Doug

Great story on Wayne Embry. Excellent job on the precipus of a historic moment

Two hours after the game and no comments. I guess that speaks by itself. Or Doug hasn't yet released the flood of anger and frustration that surely has poured in here after another bad loss. People, think positive, they stopped allowing blow-outs and held their ground against pretty good basketball teams lately, and although I'd take ugly win over gracious loss any day, losing in the last seconds of an intense game is still better than getting trashed by 20+ with garbage time aplenty. The record so far does not do justise to the talent the Raptors have, I still like to watch them (when they play good of course, even if it is a quarter or two too late.)
True fans don't abandon the ship at such time, we just sing "GO Raps GO!"

Ivan wrote what I was thinking. The team was competitive today and lost to a better team. I don't think Joey is a starting 2 in the NBA but credit to him and Jay for trying something new and succeeding with it today. Same for AP at point and AB at centre. They may be small steps but the team is showing some improvement.

TRADE DONE?

Both O'neal and Marion were conspicuously absent from their games on Sunday. There was no sign of an injury report for Marion. Is the trade announcement imminent on Monday (even though its MLK day in the US)?

@ RaptorMike
The report for Marion is a groin injury

Point guards.
Steve Nash looks for the open man when he brings the ball down or makes his move.
Calderon/Solomon/Ukic look for Bosh or Bargnani. Only.

Doug Smith's Sports Blog

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
