Go Raps!!!!!!!!!

Good to see that the locker room sounds pretty happy. I imagine it hasn't been like that in a while. Who yelled 'yeah Roko' during his post game interview?
Was Roko speaking to Jay the first interview right after the game?

Blogger's note: I believe it was Jamario who yelled while we were talking to Ukic

Hey Doug,

Was at the game. Man Ukic had a Season(or Career, your call) best night. That shot at the end took stones. Also, when Parker called the Timeout on the inbounds, he had just proceeded to make Bowen fall to the floor and was open at the half court line. What a great night for the kid. I love how Bargnani has started to box out more under the rim, it's providing O'neal and Parker (in tonights game at least) a lot more opportunities to get the board.

2009 Championship, here we come!

Hey, great game for the raps no doubt about it.. just wanted to point out that that although I know a lot of analysts don't take the +/- stat in basketball seriously, i think sometimes it does show some valuable information. Roko Ukic against the Spurs was an impressive +14 in +/- last night.. quite amazing. It was Rocking Roko's coming out party.. it's definately fun to watch players develop even in disappointing seasons.. For perspective, there were only 2 other raptors in the + side of the equation last night - JO with a +3 and Jake with a +5 rating. M. Ginobili led the Spurs with a +8. Roko with an improved shooting stroke in the future might turn out to be something special.. gotta love rooks developing!

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
