Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
I don't miss JO, i don't miss JO, I don't miss JO. That said (and conceeding that we were up against a hall of famer tonight), are we going to be able to handle the other team's 5? Yeah, this might be panic. Bargs seemed to hold his own against Dwight and Yao (and even the Shactus last time) but what went on tonight (and i seem to remember david lee having his way)? It goes without saying that i couldn't watch the game tonight, so please tell me Shaq thought he was fresh out of LSU and that our (possible) future frontcourt of Bosh and Bargnani can hold their own. Yeah, Shaq may have just had a career night but that's becoming a recurrent theme against us.

I missed the game so maybe I cannot fairly comment, but what was it about the raptors defense that allowed Shaq to dominate like he hasn't dominated in several years? I mean how much credit does he deserve, and how much does the raptors porous defense deserve?
