Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
hey doug,
remember when you dismissed marcin gortat's ability to start for the magic? obviously he's no dwight howard - but if you followed more teams consistently (or just checked some stats online) you would've noted that gortat's been a very good fill in for howard throughout the year. as he was tonight. you dismiss bench players with greater ease than sam mitchell.
keep up the good work [b]
Blogger's note: I'm pretty sure you don't mean the regular season stats where he sat out a quarter of the games and averaged 3.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and about 12 minutes in the 63 that he played in, right?
