Former Arizona star Chase Budinger had the line of the day when asked if there was a particularly wacky question that he had received from a team during his stay in Chicago: "One team asked me if I had a girlfriend," Budinger said. "And I was like, no. And then they asked me if I had any friends with benefits, so that was kind of a wacky question."

"What was your answer?" a quick thinking reporter asked.

"I said, 'No comment,'" said Budinger, laughing.

i wonder if it were the raptors!!?

just going thru ur blog on violet palmer leaving the NBA -- apparently, she's not leaving, she's just accepting another position for the time being (i believe)....think it was on truehoop

Okay, Jason Kapono's a very cool guy and I like him a lot but there is no way in the world -- as that commercial says -- that he watches video two hours a day. He may play Rock Band or golf two hours a day but watch tape? Nope

Doug Smith's Sports Blog

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
