Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
Hey Doug, Here is a copy of the results of the Chicago combine

It's funny James Harden is considered less athletic and more of a crafty guard. He rated stronger and faster than Derozan and Henderson. Derozan's vertical was just barely more. If he does somehow fall to the Raptors that would be a good pick.

Wow, Doug, not wasting any time getting right into Hollywood mode there, eh. Just wondering, Mr. Lautins, about that intriguing cameo appearance of the back of Mr. Smith's head... full head of hair all right and yes I'm jealous, but, um, huh?? Otherwise, bang up job, sirs, and looking forward to the sequels!

Hey Doug,
Great video! Was that all done the first time around? How many takes did you have to do to get it without any mistakes?
Blogger's note: Couple of takes. And thanks

I think that when Pau Gasol is aggressive hes a great player.
Andrew Bynum is completely useless, I dont see what good he does on the court. And I dont understand why they start the games going inside to Bynum when hes on the bench in 2 minutes with 2 fouls. LA needs to get rid of him.
I disagree that LeBron was childish or did something wrong not speaking to the media. I think he has every right to talk to whomever he wants (unless its a contract rule).
This is going to be a really good series.

Blogger's note: Cue cards? I don't need no stinkin' cue cards!

Here's a good question (about to be answered) - how many times in the last 20 years has the Regular Season MVP gone on to win a championship in the same season?
Let's see... Timmy D 2003; Shaq 2000; and MJ 91, 92, 96, 98.
So 6 times. Let's cut MJ outta there since we've been in a new era since 1999 and it comes out to twice in the last 10 seasons (including this one).
Kobe didn't get his ring last year BUT he might this year, because LeBron won't and because he didn't win the regular season MVP this year.
I guess there's a generic jinx that comes with that trophy!
