Holy crap, I am such a dope; there's half a dozen

Okay, this is getting ridiculous

We've got Lenny and Isiah, Dream and Wayne and Alex English.

And a sixth.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how I botched this as badly as I did. But I did and now you can go scurry through your minds and see if you can find No. 6.

Funny thing is I had the sixth right off the bat and figured it would be the one to mess everyone up. Little did I know my mind was mush when it came to the others.

Silly me.

Doug, don't forget Coach Mac.

What is Nash doing in Toronto? Is he making any public appearances?

Blogger's note: Film stuff and no

OK, now I'm stumped. Who is it? Damn you Smith!!!

Proud though that I got 5 first....

On another note, wouldn't Wilt the Stilt be in the greatest of all time conversation?

Lenny Wilkens twice: Once as a player(1989) and once as a coach (1998)

Harlem Globetrotters are in the hall...Jamario was a Globetrotter...does that count?

Isn't it great how we always praise you for being accurate, even if you're not the first... hmmm... well at least your accurate with breaking news!

Still love the blog, just had to laugh that each time I came back today to read the comments section, you had added another post.

got a couple for the 6th - Jerry Colangelo or Pete Newell (born in canada and several raps have attended his camp)

one more for the 6th... How about James Naismith?

Doug, the 6th is Lenny Wilkens (twice). He is in the HOF as a player and as a coach.

Number 6: Gene Keady?

Aha! Does Jamario count because he played for the Globetrotters?

are we considering jerry colangelo??? Naismith (arent we the defending "Naismith" trophy holders?)

I think Leo Rautins and Brian Heaney are in the Canadian HOF!

Can't think of anyone else in the NBA HOF though...

Is it an old assistant coach who always had a big earing in one ear?

Can't think of his name.

Was Chuck Daly an advisor to the Raptors?

Is it Jay Triano???

Cdn Hall of Fame, but nonetheless, a Hall of Fame

This is gonna bug me all day! Who is it? Who is it??

Blogger's note: Sorry, wrapped up with other stuff, you'll have to wait until morning

Gene Keady?

Here are a few connections:

- Lenny the Player & Lenny the Coach
- Jerry Colangelo (father of legomaster)
- Jack Ramsay (coached Team Canada)
- Dr. J (VC wanted him as GM)
- Dino Meneghin (get it - "Dino") http://www.hoophall.com/hall-of-famers/tag/dino-meneghin
- Oliver Miller, who was on the Globetrotters (Globetrotters are in the HOF)

Possible future links to HOF: Mark Jackson (2nd all time in assists), Alonzo Mourning (worst buyout in Raptors history).

Is it Mark Jackson?

Rick Barry as a broadcaster for the Raps?

Does Dr. J count? Vince wanted him to be the GM, until MLSE hired Rob Babcock.

I would have have to say that Lenny Wilkens will be the sixth. He was inducted twice into the Hall fame, as a player and coach.

Keady?

I can't believe I forgot Wayne Embry and Isiah Thomas. The sixth guy? I have no idea. The only guy that seems to pop out is James Naismith. Someone said Rick Berry was a broadcaster for the Raptors. For the life of me, I don't remember that. I remember him announcing for TNT, but that's it.

And for those that care, I've updated my blog, again...

Doug Smith's Sports Blog

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
