What do you expect out of the raptors when reggie evans becomes apart of the raptors rotation? Do you expect them to be a far better defensive team?

Blogger's note: Different, not far better. No one player makes a huge difference

no Grunt TV today?

Blogger's note: A technical difficulty here at home this afternoon

Wed (Raptors) up against a team that beat the Pacers coming out of a losing streak ... it's going to be a game of mental strengths ... we need to keep our offensive loose, passing and shooting to make our big plays to the big pay-off and tighten our defense to shut-down their big shots before they take them. I don't agree that "this is a get-able game" is what will work for us. I think it might actually work against us. We're still on the brink of the power-house team we can be. We still need to focus and re-commit to the champion work ethic to win-over the stronger teams.

grunt prose in place of grunt TV?

Blogger's note: Some afternoon technical difficulties; will be fixed for Friday

Hey Doug,

As always, thanks for your work...

Do you think that what we are seeing from Jarrett Jack is going to be the norm? I would love to see the combo of Calderon and Jack be as effective as it was last night for many more... Your thoughts?

Blogger's note: I doubt they give them 39 and 13 regularly

I think you should do GruntTV in front of your TV when you're at home.

I missed the chat but read through it after the fact. Some comments:

You can't second-guess draft picks. Especially ones that are a surprise, like Brandon Jennings. Who knew? And lots of others passed on him, too. I disagree with you, Doug, that the sample isn't big enough on the guy. He can play. And it's not just that Milwaukee needs him to. Sure, he wouldn't have got the burn in Toronto and his numbers would be down, but lots of rookies could be in his position on a team that needs them to score and would be lost out there. Doug, at what point is the sample size big enough? Do you look at a hard and fast number or just sometime later down the road?

Also at what point in the season is it safe to look at the team and see what's what? I know last year you said "it's too early to tell" until about February. Is that a rule or do you go more by feel?

Maybe Turk's numbers aren't what they were in Orlando, but I think he's been pretty great. He hits shots that we just haven't seen in Toronto for a long time. And I love his passing and ball handling.

Blogger's note: I think a quarter-season, 20 games is a good sample.
