Jose's a no-go against Minnesota
Jose Calderon is out of the Raptors lineup for Tuesday’s home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
A hip flexor injury that he suffered in Saturday’s win over Chicago flared up again after Tuesday morning’s shootaround and Calderon will be on the inactive list against Minnesota.
Coach Jay Triano said Jarrett Jack will start in Calderon’s place and Marcus Banks comes off the inactive list as a potential backup point guard.
It’s also likely the Raptors will use some combination of Hedo Turkoglu and Marco Belinelli as primary ball-handlers during the game.
Calderon had played in all 22 Raptors games before the outing against Minnesota. He was hurt against Chicago but was cleared to return late in that game and took part in Toronto’s practice on Monday.
Triano had said Tuesday morning that Calderon had taken part in shootaround but announced about 90 minutes to tipoff that he was out.
