Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
I am absolutely appalled at Jay Triano's late game substitution in the fourth quarter...I remember taking Bargs and Marco (I believe) out and putting Antoine Wright and Rasho (I think) in with like 3-4 minutes left in the fourth quarter....(I swear I haven't read your in-game blog yet, and if you didn't mention this in your in-game blog, this world will come to an end).
Also, I am absolutely confused as to why DDR was put into the game very late into the fourth quarter..I have no idea why.....no clue whatsoever....i haven't watch jay triano's post game yet....i have no idea...0 clue whatsoever...
I am not ... you Doug, I don't care who you think I am, but those were two dumb moves....I swear, you cannot try and prove them right to me...
If you are going to tell me not to question Jay Triano's moves because who knows if the Bargs-Marco combination would have won the game, I want to tell you that I immediately knew I was going to write this comment because of the two silly moves (as you like to say 'silly') Jay Triano made...
Blogger's note: I'm tired, it was a long day, so I edited out the vulgarity and that'll be the last time you try that, right? The move was defence for offence, it's Basketball 101. He took Bargnani out because he had four fouls and Rasho's a stronger defender. And it was Hedo, not Belinelli that came out and if you don't think Wright's a better defender than Turk right now, well ... Oh, and Wright hit a shot in the two or so minutes he played.
I'll give you a clue on the other one: DeRozan's defence is not quite up to snuff at the moment.

THE USUAL
---------------
Here we go: "Except for the three-on-two break he killed with a leaning quick three that missed "
--------
Ummm, Jose passed the ball to Marco on the three on two break, its the PG's decision....It was Marco's shot, need I say more.....When Marco got the ball, he either had to shoot it or get into a halfcourt set....I thought it was a good shot, the ball just didn't go in.
DeRozan goes right at AP to finish; I'm not sure AP's nearly quick enough if the kid keeps going at him
--------
I (respectfully) disagree with AP not being nearly quick enough....I see your point, but AP's smart.
I think they see a huge advantage for DeRozan if he drives; but the Cavs will figure it out, probably slide a second defender when DD goes and it'll be up to the kid to make the right pass
----------
What do you mean "slide a second defender when DD goes up"? (Do you mean go up in the air for a shot, layup OR do you mean when DD drives?) I would be very glad if you would clarify this for me.

Do you think the raps have a chance at 4 place and home court?
No, I don't. Too far behind in the loss column
-------------
I also disagree with this because I don't think the Raptors are talented enough to get in the Top 4 (but I am sure that's what you meant as well)
Three techs on Toronto already? Quite an argumentative group tonight
---------
I thought it was two on the top of my head (I checked, and its 2)

trade turkoglu. He is a huge defensive liability and his offence is no hell either. Instead of whining, he needs to get in shape, shut up, and play hard!
You: This is a classic
If he's that awful, what are you going to get in a trade?
Forget the base-year compensation thing, forget that he's been an excellent player
----------
Is Hedo a BYC player? That is indeed classic
Blogger's note: What? The other 100 or so comments are worthy of being torn apart?

I apologize for my vulgarity in those comments. That was indeed the last time time I was gonna try it.
"I'll give you a clue on the other one: DeRozan's defence is not quite up to snuff at the moment."
-------
Sorry, can you clarify this. (I know DDR's defence is not up to snuff at the moment, and he wasn't put into the game for intentional fouling someone, so why was he put into the game?)

What Doug? What are you talking about? I am not tearing them apart. I am talking about what YOU wrote in your blog as being questionable (Raps had 2 techs, not 3 as you stated in your blog.... and other things I stated previously which I am not going to state once again, because your head might just explode)
