No Bosh for the game in Jersey
A mild sprain of his left ankle will keep Chris Bosh from realizing a goal of playing every game in this Raptors season.
Just finished practice at the Air Canada Centre to be told Bosh won’t travel with the team for Friday’s game in New Jersey, the first one he’ll sit out after playing all 53 so far this season.
Bosh was hurt late in Wednesday’s game against Memphis when he blocked a shot and came down awkwardly. He finished the game but the ankle worsened over night.
He wandered out of practice in sweats about 40 minutes before it finished and was off to get more tests done.
Coach Jay Triano said he’s mulling over a couple of possibilities as a replacement for Bosh against the Nets but won’t make up his mind until Friday.
There was no word on whether Bosh would be available for Saturday’s home game with the Washington Wizards.
The other news: Triano said that as of about noon, he didn’t expect president and general manager Bryan Colangelo to pull off a trade before the 3 p.m. NBA deadline.
But Colangelo was not in the practice gym, deciding to stay upstairs and work the phones.

If I booed this news would he come back and play?? Better yet we should trade him before 3PM and see if we can get someone who is healthy to play against NJ and Washington :D I think the Raps are deep and talented enough to still win against the nets and wizards. Hopefully the Raps are not as cocky as me :D

Bosh was in pain near the end of the game, it was pretty obvious.
Most likely He is going to sit for at least two games and hopefully
be back next wednesday against Portland.
Good thing the next two games are easy ones, they absolutely have to win the next two
even without Bosh. New jersey the worst team in the league, and Washington ..well..a tanking team that just got get rid of their best players.

I've always felt that 'mild' ankle sprains don't exist in basketball, especially when the player in question is 7 ft tall. He'll know how serious it is/was when he comes back healthy. Until then it could really go either way and I'm not sure there's a doctor in the world who'd argue the point. Of course I haven't asked them all. :)
Fortunately this will give Mr. Bargnani a test. Can the team rely on him? We'll find out. It's convenient enough that this occurs with quite possibly the worst team in league history on his doorstep. If he can't excel vs New Jersey, it may be fair to call a duck a duck. This man is no longer a child and it's time to perform. Here's hoping that he will!

It will be interesting to see whether Jay starts Amir or Rasho. Either way, Reggie will benefit from some extended minutes.

Are you sure there not just holding Bosh out because of a looming trade to Olympiakos for Josh Childress? Because, ever since I made that rumor up five minutes ago, it's been all over the place!

just saw a tidbit that marcus banks may be moved to LA for the shooting machine aka sasha vujeic
any idea what his contract is? i doubt BC would take on more salary to move banks
i find sasha sorta annoying but he's definitely a good 3 point shooter

Why is it that the Raptors with two of the Grizzlies' big men with five fouls did not go at them in overtime? This is where coaching is a must and your players do as you ask or they sit. We got back into the game when Bosh went crazy by attacking time and time again in the fourth quarter. Is no one else capable of going to the basket but him in crunch time. Hedo where are you? I really don't like seeing a supposed star like him in the higher pay bracket playing this poorly and seemingly smiling all the time or should I say all the way to the bank. With his offensive contribution he should be on the bench smiling not on the floor.
