Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
You say Jack, Wright, Weems, Bosh and Johnson weakens the bench, but how so? Wouldn't Turk and Bargnani be two "high level" players coming off the bench? Along with some quality minutes from DeRozan, and Evans, that seems just as strong as Wright, and Weems and Johnson off the bench....to me the PG is good either way!
Blogger's note: Robs the bench of its athleticism and ability to change the tempo of the game too much for me.
