Hey Doug,
Didn't get a comment in but wanted to point out IMO, I thought the refs had that one pegged. Just check the trips to the stripe, 2nd half. If the Raps had won that one it would have been uphill as Denver was getting the calls. I guess this is why there are few upsets in this league, the calls start at the top and trickle down. Jack A. called it the breaks of the game, well the boys with the whistles made the breaks.
Having said that it was nice to see that Jay agreed with me on the starting lineup. I thought he made a huge mistake sitting Calderon at the end of the game. JJ chucked up a terrible shot and threw it away in the closing minues, then he puts Calderon on.

Colangelo says that we have sufficient talent but we just dont play hard. I don't think that we have that talent, I think he has built this team all wrong. Turk is not the player we need (unathletic & poor attitude), Bargnani is not an NBA center (we need defense and rebounding), Jose constantly gets blown by (I don't even need to explain that). I mean it is Colangelo's fault, I would love to see him gone. I think he is terribly over-rated. I'm sure you would disagree Doug but that is OKAY!

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
