Nice to have Grunt TV back on the air. I missed it.

i miss seeing you on pts. aside from that thank you for bringing back grunt, and that awesome turkolol pick.

is that your office doug? Where do you get your Raps posters? btw i see you've lost some weight, good job Doug!

No matter how bad the Raptors suck, at least we got Doug. Cheers from Amsterdam

Good stuff dude!!!

Comment though (if you dont mind). I'm not sure if it's part of the Grunt TV Schtick however the veiw of you in the video has us looking up your nose. If it's meant to look this way (my apologies) however if not, maybe throw a book or two under the lap top so that we get a dead on picture of you. The veiwers look is a little akward as is (but again, maybe that's the Grunt TV magic!!).
Anyway, I dont mean to bust your chops. I'm glad it's back either way.. just my 2 cents (not meant to offend).

Looking good Doug!

All this talk about the fight between Paxson and Del Negro and the reports coming out today that Del Negro feuded with Forman also just seems so BS. It seems that its being generated by Paxson or Forman themselves (especially that Vinny also fought with Forman). Now Del Negro doesn't seem like a guy who would get into a fight in a workplace environment. He's a fiery guy etc.... but it just seems like he's getting portrayed as the "bad" guy when I think he's actually not. Hey, his team plays defense for him, I'll take that !!!!

Welcome back, Grunt TV!
We are there with you, Doug, on the front-lines; you are our chronicler of this vast diversion: our basketball team in Toronto. And with a wink you let us know that while it is all just that- a diversion - it engages us and means an awful lot to us.
Thanks for keeping us posted on the dramatic ups and downs of this season: the games and your coverage are a metaphor for our lives, and a pleasant one at that.
I think your Grunt TV blue outfit is lookin' good Doug; Yes, we are all a wee bit tired, maybe the camera location is not perfect, but I'd be suspicious of how hard one is working if it was all chipper spiffiness at this late stage. This is the time for gritty grunts.

If we do make the playoffs who of us would not want to be on the road in our own vehicle as you drive around the Lake(S!), making sure you don't speed and offering an extra coffee to keep you awake. And maybe even watching a miracle happen in Cleveland.

Doug Smith's Sports Blog

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
