This just in, a deal is done
It's not a biggie and we don't have all the details, but the Raptors have acquired Solomon Alabi, who was chosen 50th overall by the Dallas Mavericks.
I'm in the middle of writing a second edition story for the web and the newspaper so that's all I've got for you now.

Hey Doug,
This guy sound intriguing and at a second round cost not too shabby. Will Alabi be playing with the D-League or with the Raps this season?

Hola Doug
Blazers fire Pritchard an hour before draft -- oh, that's classy.

Which as a 2nd round pick, as opposed to a 1st round pick, is a much safer and more calculated risk.

Hats off to Bryan Colangelo, he has taken a lot of heat for the Raptors poor season last year however, I feel as if he did every and everything possible to make Toronto relevant last season by make some difficult but productive moves especially considering the roster and salary limitations he had to deal with. He does not get enough credit for his creativity and this draft further goes to show that he is definately a top notch GM in this league. Drafting Ed Davis was a no brainer but to get Alabi at "50" in the second round regardless of the health issues is worth it and I would say we had one of the better drafts of all the teams.

I'm not going to complain as both picks were projected to go higher Davis in the Top 10, Alabi was on most boards as a mid to late first round pick low risk high reward.

Agree with top notch draft and great job Colangelo, although some luck came into it. It was surprising to watch Davis drop, but definitely happy we picked up Alabi, who will contribute sooner than expected, and develop well into a solid NBA starter.
Now if only we can get a SF...
