Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
Hi Doug
Can you tell me how Leo Rautins can maintain his Job as Canada Men's Basketball Coach. He has been nothing but terrible since day one and continues to be terrible, whether Canada is rebuilding or not he is not the right person to coach the team. Before this job he has never done any significance coaching. I am sure there are better coaches out there that are more qualified then him.

The Canadians' inexperience is showing when the pressure mounts. Let's hope for at least one win.
On another note, Turkoglu seems to be having a hard time putting the ball in the basket or having any impact at all in this tournament - even though Turkey is playing fairly well. On the other hand Barbosa appears to have a hot hand - for at least 2 quarters per game anyways. It's looking like a better deal every day.
