In a tournament where Canada goes 0-5, suffers key injuries, has their uniforms fall apart during the first couple of games, should we be surprised a computer or an internet connection is acting act up?
.
Hang in there Doug. I am sure you are frustrated as hell. I for one appreciate the Star's effort to get this tourney covered in a first class way from a Canadian reporter's perspective.

While our intrepid reporter is experiencing technical difficulties, please stand by.
A musical interlude perhaps? Found these today, and just gotta share:

Enjoy. Cheers. Go Raps!

Hi Doug! I hope your tech problems are only computer-related, and that the rest of your basketball/travel arrangements are working fine.

Do you know if any of the Canadian broadcasters will be carrying any of the next round of playoff games? I've checked the websites of RaptorsTV and TSN2, but neither have schedules available very far ahead, and I don't see any FIBA on the existing schedules (TSN/2 with much US Open Tennis). It would be nice to see some more basketball to tide us over until the NBA starts up again!

Blogger's note: I don't know of any; I believe TSN2 has the gold medal game next week and ESPN has the USA games somewhere but that's it.

Doug Smith's Sports Blog

  • Doug Smith has been a sportswriter for more than 30 years, a journey that's included seven Olympic Games, numerous and varied championships and more dreary regular season games than he'd care to remember. Here, he'll talk about them all, as well as current events and pop culture. (Just don’t ask him about music nowadays — it's not his cup of tea).
